WELCOME!

All of Kristin's books in the series have been reviewed for clinical accuracy and are endorsed by a registered social worker and two psychiatrists. The series describes the manifestations of mental illnesses, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, suggest various kid-friendly coping strategies and offer suggestions of what family and friends can do to support their loved ones.

Each book emphasizes the importance of community care, including empirically supported treatment plans. A major goal of the publication is to liken mental illnesses to physical illnesses and injuries to destigmatize mental health.

Feedback From Our Readers

"Thank you so much for the books. They are very informative for our children to help them understand what's going on with their mother. Thank you again.”

Father from Glencoe, ON

"When my nine year old son is feeling sad or negative about himself because of his ADD, he brings me your book and asks me to read it to him. He then feels better about himself because he has been reminded he is 'the good kid he knows he is inside' and he remembers he is also a 'creative, energetic, silly and smart kid.'"

"You are honestly such a blessing! What you do is so selfless and it is making such a big impact!"

“I met you and purchased the Zoey Has Worry Thoughts book at the World Suicide Prevention Day event in Woodstock, knowing that I had students with varying levels of anxiety. The parent of one of my students, who is going through the system and will likely be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, reported to the school support counsellor that her daughter stated that she is doing what Zoey does in the book. I wanted to let you know that for this child, your book made a difference. Thank you for making a difference for kids. Good luck as you move forward in your struggles. You are in my prayers.”

“I read the two books I got (Zoey Has Worry Thoughts and Zoey Has Very Glum Days) to my five year old grandson as a way of helping him understand why I recently have been training my dog to become a service dog. I suffer from panic attacks and anxiety so bad that I had almost become a complete shut in.  Well, my grandson was able to relate to the anxiety as he started at a new school this year learning French Immersion and is having a bit of a hard time making new friends. It was an amazing way to open up the conversation for him and for us to help him through it. Anyway, he saw that there are two more books and would like to read them, too, so could I order Zack's Moods Are Like a Rollercoaster and Zack, The Very Busy Kid”?

“I just purchased your book, Zack, The Very Busy Kid for my nine year old son. He really likes the book and thinks he has a lot in common with Zack. We are using the book to talk about his feelings and some solutions. Thank you for writing these books and trying to help others! Your book has already made a difference in my son's life and I'm sure other children are benefitting as well."
